Product development and innovation has become a leading strategic initiative for many companies. As an example, let us take a look at the mobile and computer industry where we see companies becoming market leaders by simply being the first to market within a product category (e.g. iPad from Apple). In contrast, those that don't manage to keep up with innovation can quickly disappear or at the least lose a great deal of market share (e.g. Nokia lost over 50% of its market share in one year alone).

Effective product development requires not only great ideas, but also the correct mix of resources and processes to successfully develop, produce and commercialize a product.

In this newsletter we will provide some insights into common strategies employed in successful new product development projects.
