New versions of Genius Project solutions also support widely used Agile and SCRUM project management methodologies

ORLANDO, Fla., June 7, 2010 – New versions of Genius Project software that help IT departments cut time from development projects and support internal help desks will be available for demonstration at the 2010 Gartner PPM and IT Governance Summit this week, Genius Inside announced today.

The Summit, running from June 7-9, will focus on helping companies position themselves for recovery from the recession by using their project and portfolio management assets to power growth and innovation. Genius Inside will demonstrate new versions of its Genius Project solutions that include upgrades to help IT groups increase their productivity. Prominent among the upgrades is support for the popular Agile and SCRUM development methodologies and new help desk management features for resolving issues more quickly. The new versions of Genius Project will also include an easy-to-use “Project Wizard” to walk first-time users through the project creation process.

“IT organizations are one of the heaviest users of project management software,” said Christophe Borlat, managing director sales and marketing at Genius Inside. “General project management functionality has applied very well to IT issues, but we wanted to go a step further and develop features for specifically addressing tasks that are unique to IT.”


New Agile and SCRUM features will include tracking use cases, sprint, definition, reviews and performance. Genius Inside will also demonstrate Gantt chart enhancements that provide managers with a consolidated view of all projects and the ability to link between main project activities and sub-project activities. The following new help desk abilities will be on display at the PPM Summit:

  • capturing and managing help desk events;
  • managing multiple help desk queues;
  • logging and tracking events and histories; and
  • a configurable escalation process.
